Bayhealth adds gastroenterology and hepatology specialist
Bayhealth recently welcomed gastroenterology and hepatology specialist Ivana Deyl, MD. She joins gastroenterologists Shruti Patel, MD, and Vennis Lourdusamy, MD, in the Bayhealth Gastroenterology Sussex Campus practice, a part of Bayhealth Medical Group.
Deyl provides diagnosis and care for a range of digestive system (aka gastrointestinal/GI) disorders, as well as liver diseases. She is accepting new patients.
“Dr. Deyl is a talented gastroenterologist and a wonderful addition to our team,” said Lawrence Ward, MD, MPH, FACP, Bayhealth vice president, physician services and clinical integration. “There is a strong need in our area for specialized care for GI disorders and screening procedures, such as endoscopies and colonoscopies that can prevent or catch cancer in its early stages for improved outcomes. Having Dr. Deyl on board is helping us meet those needs and strengthen the health of many community members.”
Prior to joining Bayhealth, Deyl was at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where she completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship. She did an internal medicine residency at Allegheny Health Network in Allegheny, Pa. She graduated magna cum laude from St. George’s University in True Blue, Grenada, to earn her doctor of medicine degree.
