Beacon field hockey beats visiting Delmar 2-0

Beacon Middle School field hockey defeated visiting Delmar 2-0 Oct. 14. Both Beacon goals were scored by Carrie Clausius on assists from Kayla Sponaugle. Goalie Anna Lopez had three saves in the game. 

The win improves Beacon’s record to 4-1 on the season. Delmar drops to 4-2. 

Beacon will host unbeaten Chipman Monday, Oct. 28. Chipman recently played to a scoreless tie against Sussex Academy, which defeated Beacon 3-0. 

Notes: Beacon had 14 eighth-graders on the A team. Sussex Academy has eight. Neither team uses eighth-graders on the varsity or JV teams. Delmar had two eighth-graders playing in middle school. Delmar has five eighth-graders on its JV team. Milford has five eighth-graders on JV and one on varsity. The Mariner field hockey team has eight eighth-graders on the team.
