Kathy Tregear, RN, BSN, MSN, MBA, JD, NEA-BC, has been named the new chief nursing executive at Beebe Healthcare.
“Kathy is an independent, analytical and systems thinker with strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of issues relating to healthcare access and quality,” said Dr. David A. Since starting the interim role Jan. 1, Tregear has worked to amplify patient flow, optimize hospital efficiencies, and further Beebe’s continued pursuit of the best patient-care strategies. Tregear and Senior Vice President/Chief Physician Executive Paul Sierzenski, MD, both bring a deep passion to high-quality, safe healthcare, emphasizing multidisciplinary care pathways and protocols. These drive evidence-based practice for industry-standard quality metrics such as sepsis, hip fractures and many other conditions. Together, through close partnerships among physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses, they look to further Beebe’s culture of safety that champions teamwork focusing on continuous improvement, which is the foundation of Beebe’s five-year strategic plan.
“Quality and safety are the fabric of our strategic plan’s five core goals, and having Kathy Tregear as our chief nursing executive to partner on this journey is going to benefit our patients,” said Sierzenski, MSHQS, CPE, FACEP. “I am eager to continue to partner with Kathy, as she has extensive clinical leadership, quality and safety experience with a strong record of advancing a collaborative, team-based organizational culture. Every day, nurses provide direct patient care for our community, and Kathy’s expertise and leadership will be a great addition to Beebe Healthcare and Sussex County.”
Tregear has worked in executive nursing roles for more than 15 years. Before relocating to Sussex County to join Beebe as manager of quality commitment, she was chief nursing executive and vice president of patient care services at Atrium Health in Charlotte, N.C. She also served as chief nursing officer at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital and Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, both in San Antonio, Texas, and vice president clinical services at Kennedy University Hospital in Turnersville, N.J.
Tregear earned a juris doctor degree from Capital University Law School, an MBA from Temple University, an MSN in cardiopulmonary nursing from University of Pennsylvania, and a BSN from University of Texas.

Right now, we are focused on enhancing our care plans and safety protocols to ensure we continue providing the best evidence-based treatment for our patients. We have a phenomenal team here at Beebe that believes in its strategic vision to provide the highest-quality care for our patients.”
