BHHS Gallo Realty welcomes two new licensed rental agents

November 26, 2021

Sam Ratner and Colin Ritchey recently joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty’s Rental Departments as licensed rental agents.

Having acquired his Delaware real estate license in his last semester at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Ratner began working in the Rehoboth Beach rental department in May. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, he decided to return to his hometown to pursue a career in real estate.

As a Lewes native, Ratner has worked in the hospitality business every summer since age 14. He worked at Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats for six years and Jimmy’s Grille for three years.

“I have been called a people person all my life, and I really love meeting, talking to and helping people. Matching someone with the perfect vacation or year-round rental home is right up my alley,” said Ratner. “The years I spent watching and learning from my Realtor parents and grandparents will be a tremendous benefit to me and my customers. Additionally, I grew up surfing, skimboarding and skateboarding throughout the entire resort region, so there’s not much that I don’t know about our beach community.”

When he is not working or enjoying the natural beauty of Sussex County, Ratner loves to snowboard, travel near and far, and dine out with friends and family.

“Sam’s guests, owners and colleagues are thrilled that he decided to join the rental department. We’ve already received so many good reviews regarding his exemplary service from guests and owners alike,” said Tricia Ratner, Rehoboth rental manager.

A Camden native, Colin Ritchey has been vacationing in the resort region since he was a child. His lifelong love of the beach area eventually drew him here to begin his professional life in real estate.

Upon graduation in 2019 from Kent County’s Caesar Rodney High School, Ritchey attended Delaware Technical Community College for marketing and shortly thereafter began working in his family’s business, Wyoming Millwork. After working in various positions there, Ritchey decided to pursue a career in real estate.

This spring, Ritchey began working as an assistant in the Lewes rental department, learning from the ground up. Since earning his real estate license in October, Ritchey said he is delighted to be assisting vacationing guests, long-term tenants and property owners.

“I’ve always been intrigued with our dynamic resort real estate market and believe I have the right skills to be successful. I’m a good listener and communicator, and I like to help people,” said Ritchey.

In his free time, Ritchey is an avid snowboarder in the winter, and an enthusiastic fisherman and beachgoer in the summer.

Lewes Rental Manager Adriane Gallagher is pleased to have Colin join the firm.

"We are very fortunate to have Colin working with us in the Lewes Rental Department.  He interned this past summer, running errands for us, doing inspections, helping with service issues and greeting guests.  As soon as he said he wanted to obtain his real estate license, I offered him a position as an agent.  He has proven himself a hard worker and someone who is committed to excellent customer service. We are lucky to have him,” said Gallagher.
