The high-octane offense of the Blue team was too much for the downstate White squad, as Blue won 16-4 in the USA Lacrosse Delaware Blue-White Senior All-Star game June 11 at DE Turf.
The Blue team, which comprised the powerful offensive prowess of Sallies, Archmere and Friends, jumped out to an 8-1 lead and never looked back.
“They had a super team for this game,” said Cape’s Jack Huss. “We didn’t practice for the game, but it was fun playing with guys that I didn’t know before this game.”
“It was refreshing,” said Cape’s Anderson Smith. “It was kind of hard with no team chemistry, but we got there. The score was a little lopsided, but it was a fun game. There wasn’t a lot of tension. I mean, there is always the rivalry; we all played hard, but it was nice not having the pressure of the rivalry, especially with Sallies.”
Henlopen Conference players competing for the White team were Michael Guenther, Jack Huss, Anderson Smith, Achilies Demerutis and Jack Schell of Cape; Jake Wagner and Logan Kaiser of Smyrna; Max Marx of Sussex Central; Michael and Andrew Hoffert of Sussex Academy; Patrick Craig, Ashton Stafford and Dylan Bennett of Caesar Rodney; Cotton Collins of Woodbridge; Bryce Johnson and Wyatt Snyder of Indian River; Dominick Barbosa Eacho of Dover; Zymere Hopkins and Bryce Wright of Sussex Tech; Aston Hudson of Milford; Israel Amajioyi and Carter Mason of Delmar; and Alex Szell of Polytech.
