The 27th annual Lewes Chamber of Commerce Boast the Coast took place Oct. 5 in various locations throughout downtown Lewes.
Lewes vocalist Jgar Helwig sang at 1812 Park along the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal, Freedom Boat Club offered free tours of the canal and Cape Water Tours & Taxi offered a one-hour trip narrated by Lewes Historical Society Director of Education Marcos Salaverria called “Floating Through Lewes Maritime History,” which he has been doing for about 10 years.
The Cannonball House offered a historical lesson on Morse code, and the Lightship Overfalls and U.S. Lifesaving Station were open for free tours.
The event was founded in 1996 to showcase Lewes’ nautical heritage.
