Brow & Beauty Bar now open on Route 1 in Rehoboth

Standing in her newly opened, lavender-colored Brow & Beauty Bar, owner Erin Exline said she likes the noticeable boost of confidence a woman has after she’s completed the application of permanent makeup.

“The look on their face from the before and after you give someone a new set of eyebrows is amazing,” said Exline. “Women want to look pretty.”

Brow & Beauty Bar opened its doors Dec. 14 in the Shoppes of Camelot off Route 1. Exline said her business specializes in permanent makeup and facial beauty.

Exline said she got into the personal wellness field as a massage therapist working at Avenue Apothecary & Spa. Eventually, in addition to massage, Exline became licensed for nails and skin therapy. After nearly a decade in Rehoboth, Exline began doing permanent makeup in a salon in Lewes; she said she opened the new shop because it was time to move out on her own.

Business was doing well, expanding even, and space was limited.

“My clients are super excited,” she said.

Permanent makeup services include microstroking, microblading, powder brows, combo brow, lips, eyeliner, color boost and touch ups. Lashes and tinting services include extensions, lifts, henna brows, fillings and tintings. Makeup services include classic, evening and bridal. Facials and skin care services include collagen induction therapy, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning and skin facials.

“It’s everything about the face,” said Exline.

Exline said facial esthetics and permanent makeup have come a long way over the years. Yes, it can make someone feel pretty, she said, but there’s a lot more to it than vanity these days. She said cancer patients, people with thyroid issues, alopecia and more can get treatments done to give the appearance of natural hair.

Exline said it’s important for people to do their homework when looking into permanent makeup because the state has set no regulating requirements. She said she continues to travel to trade shows to stay up-to-date on the latest and greatest techniques. 

“Education is tremendously important,” she said.

Brow & Beauty Bar, 19470 Coastal Highway, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. Permanent makeup is by appointment only.
