Calvin David Reeves, family patriarch

Calvin David Reeves passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020, at home surrounded by his beloved family in accordance with his wishes. He will be remembered as a devoted son, a loving husband and the best Dad, Pap and Grandpap. Calvin was born in Pensacola, Fla., to the late Mary and Calvin Reeves, and raised in Perryville, Md.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Calvin worked at Winterthur Museum until his retirement 26 years later.  He continued his dedication to service and community as a volunteer member of the Winterthur Fire Company.  He also dedicated time to St. Jude Catholic Church. Calvin's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Always putting them and their needs before his, he was the definition of a patriarch. A truly selfless man, always finding joy in ensuring everyone else’s happiness, he was always great fun to be with.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Marge; his children, Margaret DeFeo, Natasha McCullin (Thomas) and Salim Nehme (Rose); grandchildren Emily Nehme, Christopher Sacharok (Kate), Lindsey Campbell (Kyle), Owen Getz, Gabriel DeFeo, Kayla and Ryan McCullin; great-grandchildren Olivia and Chase Campbell, Henry and Molly Sacharok; brother Dennis Reeves (Sharon); and Celeste D’Adonna and family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, Aug. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville..  Family Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church Tuesday, Aug. 18, at noon. Interment will follow in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Perryville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Calvin’s name to the American Cancer Society.
