Candy Abbott book release event cancelled
Editor’s note: The open house book event is canceled due to recent Coronavirus health concerns.
Candy Abbott will host a book release event for “And I’ll Never Love Him Less” from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 22, at Baywood Clubhouse in Millsboro.
The long-awaited sequel follows her first memoir, “I’ve Never Loved Him More: A Husband’s Alzheimer’s, A Wife’s Devotion.”
It follows a couple’s travels during the tragic and painful yet equally uplifting, humorous and even joyful journey through the late stages of the devastating disease of Alzheimer’s.
Candy and Drew Abbott’s love story continues with Drew in moderate cognitive decline through the final stages of dementia. Displaying peace under pressure, Candy never pretends to have the answers as she navigates unfamiliar waters while also dealing with her own health issues, financial uncertainty, and more. She finds strength in her faith, family, friends, and the kindness of strangers, engaging scripture, prayer and even humor to combat this disease.
Far from depressing, this is a worthwhile, inspirational read. Readers will want to share these pages with someone who struggles with patience and acceptance. Candy’s journey will give practical, sensitive insight on how to handle symptoms as they ebb and flow. But no matter what people are going through in life, her faith, wit, laughter, and tears will take readers on a roller-coaster ride they won’t soon forget, leaving them feeling better, stronger, more loving and grateful.
This informative open-house event is sure to touch the heart and give gentle tools to find the path as a caregiver for or a loved one of someone who is struggling with Alzheimer’s or any devastating disease.
Light refreshments will be served, and those who knew Drew Abbott will have an opportunity to write words of remembrance.
RSVPs are requested to to Elizabeth Boerner at 302-377-6932.
