February 8, 2024

Cape senior Kameron Trammell lit up the scoreboard with 24 points, including six three-pointers, in the Vikings’ 70-45 win Feb. 6 in Milford.

“I felt great,” said Trammell. “Yeah, I was hungry for the ball. This win is a boost, and I'll stay focused, keep working hard in practice and maintain that same energy for upcoming games. Consistency is key, so it's about staying mentally locked in, and our team needs to keep staying together.”

Jack Schell played big under the basket, scoring six and snagging 16 rebounds. He added four blocks and five steals.

Freshman Geordan Downing dropped in 12 points and grabbed three rebounds. Jayden Dukes scored six points and had five assists.

Freshman guard Jameson Tingle tallied six points, 10 rebounds, four steals, four assists and four blocks.

“We showed our potential tonight,” said Cape coach Steve Re. “The guys had energy and were focused. When we see the ball go in early, we are a different team. Kam and GD both knocked down shots. Jack and J handled the interior and Jayden controlled the game. It was fun to watch and dominate the game from start to finish.”

Cape scored the first 12 points in the game and never looked back, taking a 34-12 lead into the halftime break. The Bucs gained some momentum in the second half, but the Vikings stood strong.

Cape improves to 7-9, while the Bucs are 6-9.
