The Cape boys’ lacrosse team celebrated Senior Night May 10, with a 24-3 running-clock victory over Milford. The Vikings move to 10-3 on the season.
Cape sent a barrage of 52 shots on the Bucs’ goal. Jack Schell hit the twine four times to lead the way. Jahden Cannon scored three; C.J. Fritchman, Burke Healy, Thomas Gibbs and Ryan Morgan each cranked two; and Joe Coveleski, Luke Burton, Michael Guenther, Cody Trivits, Anderson Smith, Mack Leonhartt, Brody Smith, John Huss and Andrew Wolak each tallied one goal.
Garnering assists were Burton, Guenther and Carter with two apiece, and Schell, Trivits, Cannon, Thomas Gibbs, Leonhartt and Kimwuan Gibbs each with one.
Cape goalies Mason Trench and Augustine Musika each made two saves.
“Defensively, I thought we played well,” said Cape head coach Geoff Shupard. “Our offense did a better job of taking care of the ball, so I’m very happy with that. We still have some things to clean up, but the boys are working hard and moving in the right direction.”
The Cape JV squad moved to 9-1 with a 10-3 win over the JV Bucs.
The Vikings will host Smyrna Wednesday, May 17, before finishing the regular season at Sanford Thursday, May 18.
