The Vikings boy’s lacrosse team has been dismantling opponents over the last three games with wins over Milford 23-1, Brandywine 20-5 and, most recently, an April 6 19-3 win at Polytech in which Cape scored 11 goals in the second period.
The victory over Polytech was highlighted by Andrew Scrutchfield’s six goals and two assists and midfielder Matt Millman’s five goals. Freshman Luke Benson had two goals and five assists while freshman Blake Mann also had a pair of goals.
Jerome Johnson, Jackson Monigle, Sam Mohr and Connor Brown also scored for Cape. Goalie James Cook recorded 13 saves.
Polytech goals came from Luke Slater with 2 and Korion Winder.
Cape will play Wilmington Friends at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 9, at Wesley College in Dover as part of the Dave Reynolds Lacrosse Festival Weekend. The Quakers finished 10-5 last season, which included a 10-6 loss to Cape Henlopen.
