The Cape freshman football squad opened its 2023 home campaign with a 22-6 loss to Appoquinimink Sept. 20 at Legends Stadium. The freshmen are 0-2 on the season.
The Vikings jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a 10-yard touchdown run from Walter Brown in the first quarter. The two-point conversion failed.
“I’m proud of our boys,” said coach Dwight Tingle. “We are getting better every day. They kept a positive attitude and continued to play hard throughout the game. I can’t wait to get back to practice.”
The Jaguars scored three touchdowns and two runs for two-point conversions to reach their 22 points.
