Cape K-8 field hockey camp welcomes 100 kids

Week one of the Cape Henlopen field hockey camp welcomed 100 kids from grades K through 8. The athletes were split into five groups to work on appropriate skills and drills.
“A great turnout,” said coach Kate Austin. “The camp runs from 9 to 1 with plenty of water breaks and a break for lunch. It’s been sunny and hot, but the kids and coaches tolerated it very well. Next week the high school group will be here from 9 to 3. And it won’t be long before the preseason starts.”
The second- and third-grade group includes in back (l-r) coach Alia Marshall, coach Cameron Smith, Charlotte Catts, Olivia Catts, Maybellene Willis, Brielle DiStefano, Ellis Hay, Mila Booth, Emerson Allen and coach Sam Connors.
