A Carpenters Christmas tribute in Milton Dec. 1-2
After taking her show around the country, singer Lisa Rock and her band, Close to You, will bring holiday classics to Delmarva with A Carpenters Christmas at 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, and 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at the Milton Theatre.
Considered one of the best vocalists of all time, Karen Carpenter captured the attention of a generation with her unabashedly catchy pop music. Singer and playwright Lisa Rock, her band, and backup singers are dedicated to creating a Carpenters experience like no other.
Rock’s four-octave range allows her to sing all the Carpenters’ hits in their original key, keeping the songs genuine and recognizable for the audience.
The holiday concert is a nod to the two Christmas albums the Carpenters made and it captures the feel of the classic TV holiday variety shows of the 1970s.
