Charles E. Daisey Sr., successful businessman
Charles E. Daisey Sr. of Georgetown passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, in the care of Beebe Healthcare, Lewes. Charles was born in Milford Sept. 24, 1949, to the late Oliver H. and Myrtle Farrow Daisey. He was a successful businessman well-known in lower Delaware, having owned and operated several businesses including a painting contracting business, two automobile dealerships, and numerous rental properties. He was a no-nonsense man, who believed in living beneath his means. He disliked hypocrites and crooked politicians particularly. He was married to Mary Delema Daisey, who preceded him in 2014, and together they raised two sons.
Charles is survived by his sons, Roger Daisey and companion Nury Arias of Redden, and Charles Daisey Jr. and his companion Laura Denton of Georgetown. He has four sisters, Frances Wyatt (Jack) of Milford, Rose Adams of Greenwood, Virginia Wyski of Bridgeville, and Barbara Daisey (Dean) of Millsboro. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Tyler, Mackenzie, Logan and Collin.
Charles also leaves behind several dear friends, Billy Downs, Barry Ingram, Reese Smack and Bob Herrington, and includes his faithful secretary of 32 years, Brenda Montigny. Two other longtime friends are Arnold and Darlene Smith, as well as many other extended family members, friends, and acquaintances. Another he leaves behind is his beloved canine friend, Chase.
A time of viewing and visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 2, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Van Der Wall and Robert Herrington officiating. Interment is scheduled for 2 p.m. at McColley’s Chapel Cemetery, Georgetown.
