Charlie Zahm to perform maritime concert Aug. 6

The Groome Church performing arts series and the Overfalls Foundation will celebrate Lewes' maritime history with a performance by Songs of the Sea singer and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Zahm from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, in Lewes Canalfront Park. 

Zahm will be accompanied by guitarist Steve Hobson and Bob Hurst on accordion. Admission is free. Attendees may bring blankets and lawn chairs.

In conjunction with the performance, Groome Church will present a donation to support Family Promise of Southern Delaware. The nonprofit group unites faith-based and other community groups to help prevent homelessness through financial aid, lodging and hospitality, and stabilization support for families with children in housing distress.
