Cherry Blossom Beach Fest activities start March 14
The Cultured Pearl Restaurant and the Shops at The Pearl Mall will present the 4th Annual Cherry Blossom Beach Fest Saturday, March 14, at the shops and restaurant site, 301 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach
This fun cultural experience for the entire family will feature an indoor Japanese street fair, Japanese cultural activities, traditional Japanese street food and drink, and a cosplay contest and karaoke hosted by DJ Bryon Hall. Admission is free.
The event is held in celebration of the Sister States of Delaware and Japan's Miyagi Prefecture, and in cooperation with the Japanese Student Exchange Programs from Cape Henlopen High School, Dover High School, Dover Middle School, Sendai Nika School, Kakuda High School, Iwanuma City Middle School, and Appoquinimink High School.
The Cultured Pearl's own Maiko Saleff will host a Japanese paint night from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 22.
Cultured Pearl Master Sushi Chef Yasuhiro Sano will host a Sushi 123 class from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 29. Attendees will learn to make sushi and dine on their own creations.
Adults can attend a Sake Pour and More sake pairing from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 5. The event is hosted by NY Mutual Trading Kikizake-shi Certified Sake Sommelier Rachel Fiekowsky, Specialty Wines Purveyor Laura Lamprecht and The Cultured Pearl's Master Sushi Chef Yasuhiro Sano and Executive Chef Robert Wood.
