Staff and children of the Children’s Beach House in Lewes celebrated the memory of founder Lydia Chichester du Pont with a day of activities for campers July 25.
Students enrolled in the Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center and summer camps enjoyed visitors from The Little Farm petting zoo, waterslide bouncy house, face painting and lunch with the organization’s board of trustees.
The annual Founder’s Day celebration included a special tribute to Executive Director Richard Garrett, recognizing his 20 years leading the organization.
Established in 1937, Children’s Beach House provides year-round support, weekend enrichment activities and summer camp programs for children with communicative disorders and children who come from under-resourced families.
The organization’s Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center nurtures typically developing preschoolers, and those with speech and language delays, hearing impairments and mild orthopaedic challenges.
