Christopher 'Chris' Willey, HVAC business owner

Christopher N. “Chris” Willey, 41, of Milton, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015.

Chris was owner and operator of Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a family man who loved hunting, fishing, growing his own food, raising farm animals, 4-wheeling, frog gigging and boxing. He especially enjoyed spending time in the woods with his oldest son, Ticen. He loved his family and friends, and his hometown of Milton. He graduated with the Cape Henlopen High School Class of 1992, Sussex Tech Adult Education HVAC program and taxidermy school in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. “Capt. Bobby” Willey; his grandfather, Bob Willey; great-grandparents, Geneva and Alton Willey; and special fatherly friend, Raymond “Buggs” Harp; and dear childhood friend, Freddy Jensen.

He is survived by his wife: Stefanie (Azato) Willey; two sons: Ticen and Tobin Willey; his mother: Kathy (Bauer) Willey; a sister: Laura Brittingham, and her children, Sydney Montgomery and Sadie Brittingham; paternal grandmother, Kay Willey; aunt, Debbie Anderson and husband Carl; uncle, Stephen Willey and wife Dawn, and their children Paige and Trent; mother and father-in-law: Jim and Lynn Azato; brother and sister-in-law: Jimmy and Donna Azato and their children, Mia, Ava and Jaden; sister and brother-in-law: Chrissy and Sean Steele and their children, Owen and Olivia; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

Due to extreme floral allergies, the family is requesting no flowers. They suggest contributions be made to: “Stefanie A. Willey – FBO Ticen and Tobin Willey Club 15”, c/o Delaware State Police Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 800, Georgetown, DE 19947 for the future financial needs of Chris’ young children.
