In less than two years, The Coastal Corvette Club has grown to 80 members. The purpose of the club is twofold - to encourage ownership and interest in Corvettes through cruises, car shows, rallies and social activities, and to give back to the community. The club has supported Delaware Hospice in Sussex County, local food bank Cape Henlopen Food Basket, Rehoboth Elementary School PTO, and other organizations.
Coastal Corvette Club membership is not exclusive; some members belong to more than one car club. All activities are strictly voluntary, and participation is encouraged. Corvettes in the club range from a beautiful 1963 split window to a 2016 Z06, which makes a perfect blend of the old and the new.
Monthly meetings are held at 7 p.m. the first Monday of the month at Jakes Seafood Restaurant on Route 1; early arrivals may socialize and dine together. The meetings are short, productive, well organized and a lot of fun, especially for the winner of the 50/50 drawing. New members are always welcome.
