Columbiettes of St. Jude to host Leo Patalinghug May 20

April 28, 2023

The Columbiettes of St. Jude the Apostle Parish will host the Ladies Day of Reflection from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 20, in the parish life center at 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes.

The role of women in family and society with the Virgin Mary as model is the event’s theme.

Special guest will be Leo Patalinghug, a priest member of a community of consecrated life, Voluntas Dei (The Will of God). He is the creator and founder of an international food and faith movement called Plating Grace, a national movement to bring families back to the table. He is founder and chair of the nonprofit group The Table Foundation, which seeks to harvest the power of good food to do good in the community.

His unique background as a chef and his previous experience as a two-time black belt martial arts instructor and former award-winning break dancer and choreographer have earned the attention of major media outlets, including the Food Network, where he won “Throwdown with Bobby Flay.” He is a best-selling author and acclaimed international speaker, and a host for radio, podcast, and a weekly international food and faith show on EWTN, “Savoring Our Faith.”

The Columbiettes comprise a group of like-minded Catholic women who foster sisterhood, service and spirituality among members. They work to protect the religious, civil and economic rights of all people, and strive to aid all members of the human family. They also work to assist brothers in the Knights of Columbus with their endeavors.
