Community gathers to Dance for the Cure

Dance for the Cure was held Oct. 12 at St. Jude Parish Center. The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival added a community event that highlights local talent of  Delaware Dance Moves and Manners, and benefits the Tunnell Cancer Center. The ballroom community dance  fundraiser featured dance demos and music by DJ Keith who played the danceable Foxtrot, Swing Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha, Salsa, Merengue Rumba, Bachata, Quick Step.

Special performances by Mitali Desai & Stijn Koshari from the University of Delaware Ballroom Dance Team. A Lindy Hop Demo by University of Delaware Swing Club Members, Julianne Ferrill and partner Kevin Mascitelli. The Peabody was performed by Dennis Wright and Beverly Wells was given. A line dance demo and lesson offered by Donna Ferraro. An Argentine Tango stunned the crowd, performed by Abby Millager and Andre Baarsma. The  New York Style Hustle was performed by John and Stephanie Angelis. Dancers enjoyed the beautiful classical guitar sounds of Dr. Victor Banzon, playing tango in Traditional, Vals and Milonga styles.
