Complaining is getting old and confusing

January 3, 2025

One of the issues I have with getting older is brain confusion. I am constantly reading, hearing and seeing politicians running on the problem of overdevelopment, and at the same time reading we have a housing shortage crisis. Are we building too much or too little? Who do we blame? Builders? Politicians? Buyers? The county? DelDOT? Me? Maybe it’s the charities that are proudly pictured receiving checks from all of the above? We recently voted in local government representatives who spoke against the development status quo, but what do we actually expect them to do?

Another puzzle for me is local newspaper pages dominated by advertisements and articles for our award-winning hospitals and doctors seeking new patients. And yet everyone – and I mean everyone, including my urologist – complains about how long it takes to get an appointment with one. Complaining is just getting old and confusing. Or maybe it’s just me that is.
