Connie Ehrhardt debuts work at The Buttery

July 31, 2016

Lewes artist Connie Ehrhardt debuted her collection at The Buttery in downtown Lewes July 24 with an informal reception. Born in Manheim, Germany, Ehrhardt came to the United States as a young child. She grew up in Gaithersburg, Md.

She is, by large, self-taught though she did attend a six-class session with artist Susan Avis Murphy. Ehrhardt works in diverse media, including pencil, water color, acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal and graphite pencil. She has been awarded top honors four years in a row at the Montgomery Village Art Show, which is open to both amateur and professional artists.

In August 2014, eight of her 11 pieces won blue ribbons at the annual Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. Ehrhardt now calls Lewes home, and she is stepping out of her comfort zone and beginning to share her passion with the public. A website/gallery is in the works, where much more of her work may be enjoyed.

Ehrhardt’s work will be on display at The Buttery for about six weeks.
