David L. McClain Sr., avid outdoorsman

David L. McClain Sr., 79, of Milton passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at his residence. He was born April 7, 1941, in Dundee, N.Y., son of the late Robert and Alberta (Cornish) McClain.

Mr. McClain was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished time spent with those he held most dear. Mr. McClain was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his brothers: Carlton "Tink" McClain Sr. and Thomas McClain. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice McClain of Milton; his sons: Randy McClain of Oklahoma City, Okla., Bryan McClain of Dundee and David McClain Jr. of Dundee; his daughters: Bonnie Flores of Salinas, Calif., Kelly McClain of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lisa Buck of Benton, Ariz.; his stepson, James Atkisson of Seminole, Fla.; his stepdaughters: Mary Walker of Winchester, N.H., and Amy Lee of Frisco, Texas; his 16 grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; his brother, Merrield "Mickey" McClain of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and his sister, Melody Hartford of Lincolnton, N.C.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
