David L. Van Patter, retired cosmetologist

David L. Van Patter, 66, passed away at his home in Millsboro Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019.  He was born in Ames, Iowa, to Charles O. and Elinor (Miller) Van Patter. 

David was a licensed cosmetologist and spent his early career in salons in Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska.  In later years, David worked in healthcare in Michigan and Maryland, and worked in the dietary department at Beebe Medical Center for one year, before illness forced his retirement in 2007.  

David is survived by his husband, James Beal of Millsboro; a brother, Charles of Story City, Iowa; a sister, Pam Montage of Westerville, Ohio; and a sister, Margo Lovig of Huxley, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
