Dawn Elizabeth White, retired from banking
Dawn Elizabeth White, 79, of Millville, formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at Renaissance Healthcare, in Millsboro, surrounded by her loving family.
Dawn was born in Concord, N.C., March 4, 1939, daughter of the late Wade P. Ferguson Sr. and the late Alice M. (Williams) Ferguson.
She worked in the banking industry in the Millsboro area before her retirement. In her free time Dawn enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, making arts and crafts and completing DIY projects. Most recently she enjoyed participating in all the activities at Renaissance as well as being the president of the Resident Council. Her family brought her the most joy, especially spending time with her two grandsons.
She is survived by a son, Christopher White of Sedalia, Colo.; a daughter, Jennifer Whaley and her husband Joseph of Ocean View; two grandsons, Justin and Jason; and a brother, Wade Ferguson Jr. and his wife Marie Elaine of Ocean View. Dawn is also survived by a niece, Lauren Kozlowski and her husband Peter of Hoover, Ala., and their two children, Tre and Andrew, and her nieces and nephews from her previous marriage to the late William White.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Renaissance Healthcare for the love and support that they have provided to Dawn and her family for the last several years. They would also like to thank her friends at Renaissance and their families for all their love and friendship.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford. A prayer service will also be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home, where friends and family may visit after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
