Del Tech Owens Campus holds 38th Commencement
The keynote speaker for the ceremony was Penny Short, a graduate of Del Tech who is currently the chief nursing officer and COO of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Short overcame many obstacles in her life, and through perseverance accomplished her goals in life. Short said in her address, "What I ask of you is not to look so far ahead and miss out where you are now. Don't forget those who have helped you get to this place, and all of the people and experiences that has led you to this moment." BY STEVEN BILLUPS

Delaware Technical Community College Owens Campus in Georgetown held its 38th Annual Commencement May 17. The college, celebrating its 50th Anniversary, graduated 738 graduates with 65 students graduating Summa Cum Laude, 16 graduating with a 4.0 grade point average. The oldest graduate is 69 years old and the youngest 19 years of age.
