Delaware Community Foundation welcomes Sarah Grunewald

The Delaware Community Foundation recently welcomed Sarah Hench Grunewald as vice president of community engagement and programs.

A native Delawarean, Grunewald most recently served as deputy executive director of the Policy Innovators in Education Network, supporting a national network of state-level education advocacy organizations to maximize their impact.

Grunewald previously spent seven years at the Rodel Foundation of Delaware, where she facilitated the design and implementation of a statewide vision in support of world-class schools. At Rodel, she managed special projects, including coordinating the strategic direction and investments of the Delaware Business Roundtable Education Committee.

As vice president for community engagement and programs, Grunewald will lead the DCF's community engagement work, including overseeing grantmaking and scholarship programs, facilitating public-private partnerships throughout the state, and driving the foundation's leadership activities to strengthen its community impact and service to donors.

"Sarah's role at the DCF is to help individuals and organizations throughout the state maximize the impact of charitable resources, by leveraging our knowledge and relationships," said DCF President and CEO Stuart Comstock-Gay. "We are thrilled she has agreed to join us. She brings energy, experience and a passion for Delaware that will fortify our work to serve as a source of information, grants, connections and ideas."

Grunewald earned her bachelor's degree in political science and economics from the University of Delaware, and a master of public administration from New York University.
