Delaware leaders contribute nationally to improve local life

Nearly 20 Delaware elected officials and local leaders gathered Nov. 13-16, in Tampa Bay, Fla., for the National League of Cities’ Centennial City Summit, celebrating 100 years of strengthening cities, towns and villages from 1924 to 2024.

Attendees participated in workshops covering topics such as local government public safety, economic development, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity concerns. Among the headline speakers were Tampa Bay Mayor Jane Castro, journalist Soledad O’Brien, sports champion Lindsey Vonn, professional speaker Jennie Taylor and author Crystal Washington.

NLC is an organization comprising city, town and village leaders who are focused on improving the quality of life for their current and future constituents. Clayton Vice Mayor Ryan Paisley was presented the Centennial Under 40 Impact Award for his dedication to local government improvement in the Town of Clayton.
