Delaware League of Local Governments helps town managers increase expertise

September 27, 2024

Delaware’s municipal leaders from across the state traveled to Pittsburgh, Pa., Sept. 21-25, to take part in the 2024 International City/County Management Association Conference in Pittsburgh.

Town managers attended sessions and workshops to polish their skills through professional development and support their work with hometown stakeholders and elected officials. Session topics included: Leading Democratically in Public Trust, Empowering the Public to Engage, Working with New Boards, and Using Artificial Intelligence in Local Government.

Most of these local leaders have become credentialed and remain engaged with ICMA’s Credentialing Program. It recognizes professional local government managers who through their education and experience, adherence to high standards of integrity, and commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, are providing the best service to local Delawarean communities.
