Delmarva Christian Schools announce art show winners

In March, the Rehoboth Art League held an opening reception and awards ceremony for its Young at Art exhibition.

In collaboration with local public and private school teachers, this annual event features artworks created by local students, and this is the first opportunity for many of these young artists to have their work displayed in a gallery space.

Delmarva Christian Schools was represented well with 20 students in first to 12th grades entering two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces.

For his copper and wood-burning sculpture, Delmarva Christian Milton Campus eighth-grader Nathanael Taylor secured an Award of Excellence monetary prize, sponsored by the Village Improvement Association.

Also, Taylor and DCHS sophomore Autumn Brobyn each were awarded a James Kenneth Derrickson Memorial Scholarship that includes tuition-free RAL classes for one year.

Delmarva Christian pupils who participated in this year’s exhibition included DCMC elementary students Fernando Guajardo and Kamryn Zarebicki; DCMC middle school students Maggie Kwiatkowski, Sophia Massotti, Gavin Pinkstaff, Owen Pinkstaff, Liv Sileno, Lily Stubbs, Nathanael Taylor and Malachi Woods; and DCHS students Ann Marie Bradley, Autumn Brobyn, Kintyre Copper, Emily Jones, Taylor Kenton, Mariah Massotti, Hannah Palmer, Mel Pierre-Louis, Josie Tyndall and Jasmine Zhang.
