Delmarva Christian Schools embarks on a new year, stronger together

September 3, 2023

Delmarva Christian Schools, a nondenominational Christian school, opened the school year with a historic high of 570 students.

Delmarva Christian kicked off the academic year with a series of engaging events. New student orientation day and a back-to-school barbecue Aug. 15 marked the initiation of the school's interactions with incoming high school students and their families. The official return to campus took place Aug. 16 with staff members warmly welcoming students at the entrance.

PreK to grade eight student gathered Aug. 21 for an engaging back-to-school night. The event featured complimentary Kona Ice treats and opportunities for students to connect with their educators. Students reunited with their peers and familiarized themselves with their learning environments.

Addressing the excitement of the new school year, Matt Kwiatkowski, DCS head of schools, said, "With a student population that has reached our school's historic high of 570, and a dynamic team of over 90 staff members, including 11 new additions, nurturing and safeguarding a school culture deeply rooted in pursuing Jesus, discovering his unique callings and fostering genuine care for one another remains central to our identity as an exceptional Christian school."

The upcoming school year is focused on a powerful theme inspired by Ephesians 4:16 that encapsulates the essence of unity and shared purpose. The theme for 2023-24 centers around the interconnectedness of individuals as a unified body, fostering a sense of community and promoting collaboration in service.

"Throughout the year, the theme of 'Stronger Together' will guide us toward deeper unity, fellowship and purposeful engagement, highlighting the profound impact of collaborative collaboration,” said Kwiatkowski.

Delmarva Christian Schools offers a comprehensive Christian educational experience for grades 9-12 at the high school in Georgetown, while also providing excellent Christian educational services to young toddlers through eighth-graders in Milton.
