Diet and weights transformed Todd Willits from the inside out

November 9, 2024

Todd Willits, 52, had always been reasonably fit. He had previously completed marathons, and was no stranger to weight training and staying in shape. However, a few years back, a series of unfortunate events caused him to slip and lose his grip on health, resulting in his weight ballooning out of control. Todd knew he needed something to get back on track, so he signed up for two consecutive body transformations. Six months later, he finished in the best shape of his life.

“In 2020, I was training for a race when I was diagnosed with a hernia,” said Todd. “I was scheduled for surgery, but then COVID struck and all surgeries were canceled, so my physical fitness stopped completely, and I started putting on the pounds.”

Todd continued to backslide over time, and by 2023, his body weight had reached an all-time high of 237 pounds. That summer, Todd realized he was in a rut and was looking for something to help him get back on track, when he was diagnosed with diverticulitis and was hospitalized for a hemorrhage in his intestines.

In January 2024, Todd had a portion of his large intestine removed, and was advised to change his diet and lifestyle to prevent further issues. Coincidentally, his wife Joanne was already enrolled in our transformation program and was achieving great results. So Todd decided to do the same and called me to schedule a start date.

In April, Todd began his fitness journey. He quickly began seeing measurable results. At the end of three months, Todd had lost 19 pounds and 26% of his starting body fat. Although he finished his first round in above-average condition, he decided to keep going and try to get in the best shape of his lifetime.

After a brief vacation, Todd started his second transformation, and he began to get fast results, but this time, he was determined to reach an all-time best. When Todd finished, he was physically unrecognizable from when he started the program. He had lost a total of 42 pounds and 55% of his starting body fat, and sported a ripped and lean physique that would make a 30-year-old jealous. His bulging waistline was replaced with six-pack abs, and Todd looked like a new man. However, the most impressive part of his fitness journey came with the results of his post-transformation blood test.

In six months of working out correctly and following a healthy diet, Todd’s A1C dropped from pre-diabetic to a normal healthy range. His cholesterol and blood pressure improved to those of a 20-year-old, and his fatty liver and spleen issues completely disappeared. In addition, he has had no flare-up from his diverticulitis, and his energy, confidence and health in general are the best they’ve been in decades.

“Before I started this journey, I thought that I would never get below 200 pounds, and I was OK with that, but then I realized very quickly through the course of this program that I can be a lot better. I can have the body of a much-younger person with the brain of a 52-year-old,” said Todd.

There is no doubt that he more than accomplished this goal. Congratulations, Todd, your story is an inspiration to anyone who’s trying to get healthy and take control of their life through health and fitness.
