Dogfish brings back Analog A-Go-Go

Fall festival celebrates beer and vinyl
November 10, 2022

For the first time since 2019, Dogfish Head held its signature fall event, Analog A-Go-Go, a festival that brings together the worlds of beer and vinyl records under one big top.

For the Nov. 5 event, Dogfish brewed a number of specialty beers and collaborations, some of which will be available for wider distribution in the future.

Two of those collaborations were with independent record label Numero Group, which included Something Cosmic, a German-style Dunkel Doppelbock, and Something Atomic, a Hummingbird Cake pastry stout.

Other notable libations for the event included BoDeGose, Dogfish’s new gose sour brewed with Talea Beer Co. of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Citrus Squall, a double golden ale planned for larger distribution in 2023; and Parti Ghoul: Trick, a dark lager with the most rock n’ roll of alcohol by volume: 6.66%.

Guests could also take part in a fireside chat that included Dogfish founder Sam Calagione, Numero Group founder Ken Shipley, Rehoboth Beach brewpub brewmaster Bryan Selders and Mark Safarick of Dogfish’s distilling division. For the chat, visitors could try a bourbon-barrel-aged version of Dogfish’s 120-Minute IPA, and take part in a discussion of popular releases by Numero Group.

Analog A-Go-Go had not been held since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, but a sort of test run of a collaborative event between Dogfish and Numero Group was held in 2021 as Harvest Festival. For Analog, in addition to Numero Group releases, vinyl lovers could browse crates of both new and used records brought by local stores.

“I love all of our events, but I’m shameless in saying this is my favorite event that we do because it is interwoven with our love of music and art and beer,” Calagione said.

Shipley said, “Sam and I, when we met, we were like peas in a pod. It was a no-brainer when he called and wanted to do something. It was just very meaningful for our relationship together.”
