Donna M. Brooks, enjoyed cooking, baking
Donna M. Brooks, 76, of Lewes, passed away peacefully, Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., March 30, 1946, daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Osmanski) Weismiller. Donna made her career as the cafeteria manager for Colonial School District, retiring after 15 years.
Donna was a dedicated member of Red Hat Society with whom she was active in her community spending time at Lewes Senior Activity Center, especially playing bingo. She enjoyed many hobbies in life including cooking, baking and hand quilting. Most of all, spending time with her family is what she enjoyed.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers Albert Weismiller and Roy Weismiller. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Russell G. Brooks Sr.; loving children, Carrie J. Dobbs (Joe) of Rocky Face, Ga., and Russell G. Brooks Jr. (Sherri) of Newark; sister, Marlane Radzius of Middletown; and grandchildren, David, Grace, Emilee and Russell “Tripp” III.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Delaware Hospice Center and Dr. Khatri of the Helen Graham Center.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Minquadale Fire Company Hall, 129 East Hazeldell Ave., New Castle, with a reception to follow. All attending are encouraged to dress casually.
