Dover Downs Hotel & Casino opens new meeting rooms

April 5, 2012

Dover Downs Hotel & Casino announces the reopening of its fourth floor Diamond Room, following a complete renovation into 6,500 square feet of meeting space featuring racetrack and city views. The additional meeting space now brings the total square footage of functional meeting and convention space to 41,500 at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.

“The refurbishing of the once empty-space was undertaken to accommodate the demand for additional meeting sites in the facility,” said Ed Sutor, president and CEO of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. “While we had a great mix of room types and sizes previously, the new rooms ensure that overflow from larger groups may be better handled. We have now maximized our space potential for groups of every size that want to conduct meetings, classes, even parties.”

The Diamond Room when fully open measures 210 feet by 31 feet and features windows on three walls. The glass-enclosed room can be subdivided by air walls, with two rooms measuring 60 by 31 feet and one measuring 90 by 31.  Drapes and blinds accent the neutral décor and are used to darken the space for automated visual displays which can be cast onto the walls. In addition to the Diamond Room, the site has an 18,000-square-foot ballroom, executive boardroom, six hospitality suites and five corporate rooms accommodating 30 to 150 people. For more information on the Diamond Room or to book any meeting space at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, call Gordon Basht at 302-857-2104.
