Elizabeth Ann Halvorsen, history buff
Elizabeth Ann Halvorsen, 78, of Wallace, S.C., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023. She was born April 18, 1944, in Long Branch, N.J., daughter of the late Henning M. and Ida Caroline Taylor Halvorsen.
She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., and a master’s degree from State University of New York at Buffalo, N.Y. She was an avid reader and a history buff who enjoyed traveling and music. Elizabeth also learned to speak Norwegian.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Henning Martin Halvorsen Jr.; and a sister Jean Chase.
Elizabeth leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, John Sturgill (Ann) of Morven, N.C.; daughters, Angelene Sturgill of Wallace, S.C., and Michele Sturgill Druffner (Keith) of Kennesaw, Ga; a sister, Mary Holland of Highlands, N.J.; grandchildren, Noah B. Sturgill, Mariah C. James (Jasper), Elijah J. DeHosse (Meagan), Sarah E. Wagner and Micheal K. Wagner; and four great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
