Elizabeth M. ‘Betty’ Sacco, family matriarch
Elizabeth M. “Betty” Sacco, 76, of Milton passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late George and Aurelia (Liz) Bevilacqua.
Betty was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School, class of 1961. Throughout her life, she owned and operated many businesses with her husband, but relished her role as mother and homemaker most of all. Betty loved to cook and bake and was the consummate hostess, as evidenced by anyone fortunate enough to share a seat at her table. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she held most dear, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Carmen Bevilacqua; and her sister, Concetta Thomas. Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Aldo Sacco of Milton; her sons: Anthony Sacco (William Greene) of Rehoboth Beach and Aldo Sacco Jr. (Leah) of Wildwood, N.J.; her grandchildren: William Greene Sacco of Rehoboth Beach, Aldo Sacco, Joseph DiCola, Jessica Leigh, Danielle Hemphill, and Christina Sacco, all of Wildwood; her six great-grandchildren; her brother, George Bevilacqua; and hosts of nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Betty will be privately laid to rest at Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Lewes. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Betty's memory to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215, or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
