Stockley Center residents were among the participants in the Special Olympics games held this summer at the University of Delaware this summer.
Four of the Stockley athletes were part of the 40-member Sussex County Riptide Bocce Ball Team that won a bronze medal.
Located in Georgetown, the center is a residential facility for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
So team members could socialize and celebrate, the Cape Henlopen Elks Community Outreach Committee donated $500 toward an August mixer held at Atlantic Sands Hotel Ballroom in Rehoboth Beach. Guests enjoyed music by DJ Sky Brady, dancing, an ice cream sundae bar, soft drinks and coffee.
