Ellen Postley Harmon, Stockley retiree
Ellen Postley Harmon passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2023. She was born Feb. 18, 1949, in Whaleyville, Md., to the late Audrey and William Postley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leroy Harmon Jr.; two aunts, Kathleen Purnell and Frances Sample; two uncles, Robert Purnell and Douglas Postley; two brothers-in-law, George Harmon and William Jones; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Jones and Mary Harmon. She was also blessed with five special cousins, Linda Collins, Margo Wise, James Purnell, Russell Mumford and Michael Purnell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ellen graduated from William C. Jason High School and retired from the Stockley Center after 30 years of service. She had a love for flowers. Ellen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, at Antioch AME Church, 194 Clayton Ave., Frankford, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
