Emory Hill opens Route 1 office

With offices in Kent and New Castle counties, Emory Hill & Co. has long been looking for the right place in Sussex County to establish its presence. They’ve found it in the Enterprise Building on Route 1, north of Midway.
Company officials and state dignitaries gathered at the new office Aug. 21 for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening.
Headquartered in Newark, the company was founded in 1981 by R. Clayton Emory and Bob Hill. Emory Hill offers full-service real estate and commercial brokerage services, general contracting, construction management, design-build services and property management.
Bob Hill said the new office is a significant achievement for the company.
“As far as I know we’re the only full-service brokerage company that has an office in New Castle, Kent and now Sussex counties,” he said.
For five or six years, Hill said, the company had been looking for the right office location.
“But the key thing was trying to find the right person to run the office. Until we could find that person, we would have been wasting our time opening an office,” Hill said. He said the company found real estate broker Brittany Danahy who will handle commercial real estate and also manage the new office.
“I’m excited to be here, and I’m really looking forward to growing this company,” Danahy said.
She said business in this area’s commercial real estate market is brisk.
“It’s busy, and it’s growing, with national companies looking to be here,” Danahy said.
Before joining Emory Hill, Danahy worked for Sperry Van Ness/Miller Commercial Real Estate based in Salisbury, Ocean Atlantic Commercial in Rehoboth Beach, Grubb & Ellis/BRE Commercial in Wilmington, and Marcus & and Millchap’s San Diego office.
Director of Delaware Economic Development Office Alan Levin welcomed the company to southern Delaware.
“It is great to see a company of Emory Hill’s status come to Sussex County. You’re going to be a great addition to the real estate market here. We’re starting to see everything tick back up. I guess it just coincides with your arrival,” Levin said.
Emory Hill is at 18335 Coastal Highway, Suite 101, Lewes. For additional information, call 302-322-9500 or go to www.emoryhill.com.
