Eric Sugrue book launch party set for June 25 at Lewes library

June 20, 2024

The Lewes Public Library and Browseabout Books will host a book discussion and happy hour celebration for the launch of Eric Sugrue’s new novel, “Seat 3A,” at 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

Registration is required; visit lewes.lib.de.us or call 302-645-2733. Happy hour refreshments will be served, including small bites from Big Fish Restaurant Group.

Sugrue’s gripping thriller is a tale of redemption and obsession. When Christian Stone spots what appears to be a dead body lying on the banks of the Schuylkill River during a flight from Philadelphia to Miami, a memory resurfaces of his murdered childhood friend whose killers were never punished. Stone heads to the Schuylkill and spends every waking moment following a trail through gambling rings, mysterious fortunes and rumored mob ties. His hunt places him in the crosshairs of a sinister underground crime syndicate, and he uncovers a truth that hits closer to home than he ever imagined.

Participants are encouraged to support the author by purchasing a signed copy of the book from local independent bookstore Browseabout Books. Books will also be available for purchase and signing at the event. For more information, go to browseaboutbooks.com.

Eric Sugrue is co-owner and creator of Big Fish Restaurant Group based in Rehoboth Beach, and a lover of crime fiction. He was inspired to write a mystery of his own when, in seat 3A on a flight from Philadelphia to Miami, he looked out the window and spotted what seemed to be a body. While it turned out it wasn’t, the possibility motivated Sugure to begin work on “Seat 3A.” This is his first book in what he hopes to develop into a series of Christian Stone adventures.
