Eric W. Moore, account executive
Eric W. Moore of Georgetown passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 6, 1963. Eric is at peace after his six-year struggle with diabetes, kidney disease and other complications.
Eric graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1981. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard after five years of service. After an honorable discharge, he attended Wesley College and received his bachelor’s in science. He then went to Wilmington University and completed his MBA.
He was an account executive with Merrill Lynch. He also was an adjunct instructor, and taught micro and macroeconomics at Delaware Technical Community College.
Eric was an avid sports fan who loved to both play and watch sports. He excelled in sports in school. He loved to watch his Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Orioles. He was an avid outdoorsman, and his two favorite hunting and fishing partners were his Uncle Everett Moore and the late Mark Hitchens. Eric was also a loving person, and had a charismatic personality. He never saw a stranger and would talk to anyone. Anyone who knew him would always leave with an Eric Moore story.
He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Patsy Moore. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Christopher and Rhonda Dukes. He had three beautiful nieces, Alexandra, Taylor and Ember Dukes, who were the center of his world. Eric had several aunts and uncles, J. Everett Moore Jr., Merrill Moore Sr., Tom and Teresa Adams, Richard and Peggy McCabe, Bill Hitchens and Peggy Schaffer. He had several cousins whom he thought a lot of and enjoyed their company. He will be missed by his best friend and dog, Fonzie.
Services will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church on Gravel Hill Road, Georgetown, Sunday, March 4, with visitation at 2 p.m. and the Celebration of Life Ceremony at 3 p.m.
