Everlasting Hope Ministries holds 31st annual tent services and march
Pastor Tony Neal knows just how hard it is to beat addiction. As a teenager, he was conference champion in wrestling and even ranked second in the state his senior year, but he became addicted to alcohol, and later drugs. He went to prison for attempted murder and a gun charge. On June 3, 1990, he gave his heart to Christ and turned it all around. Now he’s a Georgetown councilman who has used his own story of overcoming drug and alcohol addictions to become a champion for other individuals struggling with their own addictions and seeking recovery.
He held his 31st annual anti-drug and alcohol tent service Aug. 13, at Richard Allen School in Georgetown. This year, he’s taking his efforts a step further. Neal will be holding an anti-drug and alcohol march at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at Richard Allen School. He’s also looking for 100 men to join him during the event in a march against gun violence.
