First State Manufacturing cuts ribbon on new warehouse and distribution center
First State Manufacturing Inc. officially opened the doors of its new warehouse and distribution center Oct. 18 with a grand opening and ribbon cutting which was attended by Sen. Tom Carper, Delaware Economic Development Office Secretary Bernice Whaley and Milford Mayor Bryan Shupe, among many others.
"This facility will not only allow us to serve our national customers, but our international contracts," said Sher Valenzuela, vice president of First State Manufacturing. "We are looking forward to being able to move toward maintaining a small inventory of finished goods, especially for our Turnova safety sleeve line and our F² Seating products that we are planning to manufacture here in Milford."
"We are blessed to have Sen. Carper join us today. 15 years ago, as an enterprising entrepreneurial business, we contacted then Gov. Carper and asked for assistance in reaching out to Amtrak. Our phone rang within seconds of our outreach. This facility is the culmination of what that call began for us as Delaware manufacturers of sewn goods and upholstery," said Valenzuela.
First State Manufacturing is an award winning company and is one of the most successful manufacturers of its size in the nation, manufacturing products which include carpet refurbishment; mass transit seating, V22 seats, plugs and covers; C17 seating solutions; C5 refurbishment; missile and truck covers and pharmaceutical supplies. First State Manufacturing has earned its reputation for providing custom sewn solutions that solve the challenges its customers face, while providing employment opportunities that enhance the lives of its employees and their families in lower Delaware.
