Frank Houser Buckingham ll, Chrysler retiree

Frank Houser Buckingham II, 94, of Newark passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at home.

He was born June 12, 1927, to Samuel and Eliza Buckingham. He was a member of Newark High School class of 1945.  After WWII, he served in the U.S. Army in Belgium where he met his future wife and “love of his life” Dora Vaes. They were married for 66 years.

He retired from Chrysler in 1989 after a 39-year career. In retirement, he was an invaluable resource in the construction and maintenance of the Heart And Home Gift Stores, owned by his daughter, Nina, for the past 30 years.

He battled Parkinson’s Disease for 11 years and was a participant in the Michael J. Fox study at the University of Pennsylvania.

Frank is survived by his three daughters, Maria Ann Buckingham, Nina Vaes Sneeringer (David) and Amy Buckingham Rowe (Andy); four grandchildren DJ Sneeringer, Frank Sneeringer, Ethan Robinson and Carson Rowe; two great-grandchildren Jack and Kate; and one sister Gail Uncapher.

In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Dora; and his sister, Joyce B. Geesaman.
