Frank Joseph Juliano, decorated veteran

Frank Joseph Juliano (Doc), 85, of Millsboro passed away at his home Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, with his loving wife by his side.

Frank was born to the late Francesco and Michelina Juliano, in Dunmore, Pa., April 11, 1933. Frank enlisted in the Army the day after his 17th birthday and went on to become a member of the 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War. Several of the various awards he received during his tenure in the military include an Army Presidential Unit Citation, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal with six Bronze Stars. After his years on active duty, Frank became a member of the Navy Reserves, serving in the Seabees where he received a certificate in nuclear artillery and served as a Petty Officer 1st Class. Frank worked for the City of Philadelphia for 33 years, and was a member of the Local DC33 ALCU. He was active in coaching his sons in hockey, an avid golfer and bowler, and an enthusiastic Philly sports fan. Frank had many passions in life and expressed these by becoming a member of numerous clubs, including The Korean War Veterans Association, American Legion Post 28, the Knights of Columbus, the Sussex County Italian Club, and the San Cataldo Italian Club in Dunmore.

Frank was predeceased by his first wife of 43 years, Marie, in 1999; as well as nine brothers and sisters. Doc is survived by his present wife of 18 years, Anne Marie (Johnson) Juliano; his four children, Paul Juliano, Mikki Lewis (Dave), John Juliano, Joan O’Brien (Mike); and his grandchildren, Nicholas (Madison), Michael, Francesco and Alissa Juliano, and Erin and Cara O’Brien. Frank was fortunate to be blessed with a second family which consisted of his stepchildren, Michael Godfrey (Cindy), Tina Ventresca (Chris), Francine Dominelli (Gabe), and Ted Johnson (his caregiver); his stepgrandchildren, Gabriel (Jamie), Nicholas (Kimberly), and Julianne Dominelli (Kyle), and Christopher and Stephen Ventresca; The latest addition to the family was his first great-grandchild, Charlotte Dominelli, who brought him much joy and laughter.

A visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 17, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m., at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road Wilmington. Burial will follow at All Saints’ Cemetery.
