Free grand opening golf scramble set at Plantation Lakes June 4
Golfers are invited to play in a free Grand Opening Golf Scramble Saturday, June 4, at Plantation Lakes, Lennar’s golf resort community in Millsboro. The event celebrates the opening of the first nine holes of the community’s Arthur Hills Championship Golf Course, and will showcase the homes and spectacular lifestyle available at Plantation Lakes.
“This is a wonderful course that offers memorable play for golfers of all abilities,” said Jeremy Martin, area sales manager for Lennar Maryland Division. “We’re excited to open the course to the public, and to showcase the amenities and golf privileges available at Plantation Lakes.”
The event will feature music and food, with prizes awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin and other contests. Local dignitaries will be on hand to cut the ribbon that officially opens the course for play. Golfers can choose from a 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. start. There also will be six model homes open for tours, for golfers considering buying a home. Plantation Lakes is a golf-benefitted community. The concept first evolved in the South, in such places as Florida, and is becoming an increasingly popular model all over the nation. Plantation Lakes is Delaware’s only golf-benefitted community. A select number of homes come with a perpetual golf and country club membership. Members enjoy unlimited tee times, tee time priority and advance booking privileges. Professional golf instruction, junior summer golf camps and weekly clinics also will be available.
Plans are to unveil 18 holes of championship golf at Plantation Lakes in spring 2017-18. Construction will begin next year on the grand clubhouse.
Golf is only one of many resort amenities that Plantation Lakes will offer. Residents will have their choice of multiple pools and activity centers, tennis and pickleball, billiards, card rooms, lifestyle clubs, and fitness and walking trails.
Plantation Lakes is at 27539 Belmont Blvd., Millsboro, along Route 24 just west of Route 113.
